John hosts the longest continuously running, organic gardening talk show in the United States. For twenty-five years, John has shared his passion and extensive knowledge of organic gardening. His show, "Gardening Naturally" on KLBJ AM 590 in Austin, is unique in that it takes a non-chemical approach to gardening. Listeners call in with their questions about problems with trees, shrubs, lawns, flowers and vegetable gardens. John's main focus is protecting the environment while enriching the soil and growing healthier plants. This has proved to be a popular subject for both listeners and advertisers, as the program sells out all advertising space every spring. John's Sunday show has welcomed such esteemed guests as Robert Rodale, one of the definitive influences of organic gardening, and Wallace Black Elk, a Native-American steeped in ancient traditions. The astronaut, Eugene Cernan, shared his overwhelming experience of standing on the moon and looking back at earth, while realizing how connected we are, and how we must take care of our planet. All guests are highly respectful of the earth and share John's vision of healing the planet through organic gardening. John can be heard on KLBJ-AM 590 (live on the internet, or on radio if you're near Austin, Texas). |
