FREE CLASS - Fruit Trees: Selecting Your Backyard Orchard View Calendar
Date: Saturday, November 14, 2015 At 10:00:00 AM

Jeff Ferris, staff horticulturist and diagnostician at The Natural Gardener, presents “Fruit Trees: Selecting for Your Backyard Orchard”

It's coming up on fruit tree time! No matter how big or small your yard may be, there is a delicious fruit tree that can fit into that spot. But do you need two? How soon before they get fruit? Are they going to be big or small? Do I trim them? How many can I fit into my yard? Come learn about how to pick the tree perfect for your location, and how to care for it for many years of delicious production. Jeff has been a gardener in Austin for nearly 30 years. He is one of the staff horticulturists and diagnosticians at The Natural Gardener and has recently joined John on the air as co-host of “Gardening Naturally” (airs Saturday and Sunday mornings on KLBJ 590AM). Jeff has been teaching in the ACC Landscape and Horticulture program since 2008. He and his wife Lori co-founded the first public community garden in Round Rock – Unity Park Community Garden.

Except where noted, classes are held on Saturday mornings at 10am and are about 1 hour long. Classes are subject to change. Please call first to confirm. Classes are held outdoors under an open air canopy - The Revival Tent - please dress for the weather. Arrive early for best seating. You are welcome to bring your own chair. If possible, please park on Bell Drive, adjacent to the Tent.
