Free Class: Snakes Of Central Texas View Calendar
Date: Saturday, May 05, 2018 At 10:00:00 AM

Saturday, May 5 at 10 am – Tim Cole, owner of Austin Reptile Service (austinreptileservice.net), presents “Snakes of Central Texas.” Are you squeamish about snakes? Do you want to learn more about our indigenous snakes and what makes them so special? Maybe you want to learn how to cohabitate safely with your slithery serpent neighbors? Come out for a special meet ‘n greet with some beneficial native Texas snakes. Tim will bring a display of live snakes while he talks about their life history, the exceptional role they play in our ecosystem, and snake safety. Bring the whole family, the kids will enjoy viewing and learning about these incredible creatures. Tim will bring coloring pages and word search puzzles for the kids. Tim Cole moved to Texas in 1985 to enjoy the herpetofauna and the warm weather. He is one of the founders and current vice-president of the Austin Herpetological Society; President of the Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research, Board Director with “Rattlesnake Preservation Trust” putting on “Lone Star Rattlesnake Days” and Board Director with “SnakeDays” in Sanderson TX. He is the owner of Austin Reptile Service whose motto is "Conservation by Education". He developed a state approved Herpetological Training Course for Animal Control Officers, conducts snake safety classes, AND he’s available for children’s parties!
