Nutrient ratio (4-1-2) recommended by the Texas Agricultural Extension Agency for Texas lawns.

Multipurpose.

Plants generally use the NPK nutrients in the 3-1-2 ratio. So 8-2-4 is a balanced fertilizer with a little extra slow-release nitrogen. This makes it an excellent product for lawns, vegetable and flower gardens, trees and shrubs, and most any other gardening situation.

Covers 5,800 square feet at an
8-2-4 ratio.
Covers 11,600 square feet at a
4-1-2 ratio.

Granular form for easy use with all spreaders. Molasses coating minimizes dust and also stimulates microbes that quickly digest nutrients into the soil.

Minimal Odor.

The complete aerobic composting process ensures minimal odor, making it pleasant to work with and less attractive to pets and other animals.

Does not pollute.

Water contamination by high-nitrate, water soluble chemical fertilizers is a problem with far-reaching ecological effects. Lady Bug 8-2-4 is a slow release fertilizer that will not pollute local streams and will not burn plants.

Organic fertilizing is economical. Chemical fertilizers interrupt the natural nutrient exchange between soil, soil microbes, and plant roots. This creates a dependency that requires constant feeding, and results in gradual degradation of soil and plant health that makes plants vulnerable to diseases and pests. Organic fertilizers feed the soil microbes, which in turn feed the plants. This is a natural, self-sustaining system. Once an organic program is started, fertilizer applications can be gradually reduced and in some cases even stopped altogether. Pound for pound, Lady Bug 8-2-4 appears to cost a little more. However, over time the organic method is far cheaper than using chemicals because fewer applications are needed. In addition, gardeners are less likely to spend money on products to control pests and diseases.
