John's Answers to Common Questions:

Q: For amending poor soil or for a new garden, how much Revitalizer should I use?

A: Spread two inches of compost over the soil and dig in to a depth of 6-8 inches. For heavy clay soils, more (4-6 inches) can be added. Remember that a soil test is your road map to a successful garden.
Para arreglar un jardin establecido o un nuevo jardin recomendamos la aplicacion de la composta en 2 pulgadas sobre el suelo y escabar a una profundidad de 6 a 8 pulgadas.

Q: How much and how often should compost be applied for general maintenance?

A: A one-half inch layer of compost spread over gardens and landscapes, spring and fall, is plenty. Rake or gently till into soil wherever it won't damage roots. This quantity can be slightly raised or lowered depending on your plants and the nature of the soil.
Para un mantenimiento general es necesario la aplicación de media pulgada de composta sobre sus jardines y hortalizas en primavera y otoño.

Q: For mulching trees, shrubs and vegetables, how much should I use?

A: Spread one inch around vegetables, and two inches around shrubs and trees, one time per year. Always keep compost away from trunks and stems.
Para vegetales es recomendable aplicar 1 pulgada alrededor y para arboles y arbustos 2 pulgadas una vez al año.

Q: Is Revitalizer appropriate for containers?

A: Yes. A one-half inch thick layer on the surface will aid moisture retention. Remember compost should
not directly touch stems.
Es recomendable la aplicación de Revitalizador en una cantidad de media pulgada para maceta. Es importante que no toque directamente los tallos.

Q: Is Revitalizer appropriate for top dressing lawns?

A: Yes. A quarter-inch to half-inch thick layer in late fall or winter is sufficient. Aerating, then spreading compost, raking in and watering will speed incorporation of compost into the soil. Spraying with Lady Bug Terra Tonic will also accelerate the process. Allow compost to thoroughly settle before mowing so
that compost or granite particles are not thrown into the air. For new lawns, till 1-2 inches of compost into 6 inches of soil prior to seeding or sodding.

THIS COMPOST IS ALIVE! Exposure to heat and light may stimulate white or orange-colored growth in the soil while it is still in the bag. This growth is a beneficial organism called actinomycetes. You can still use the compost. Simply blend the actinomycetes into the soil where it is very useful.

Revitalizer Compost Logo

“Great forests and prairies have been growing on Earth for thousands of years with no feeding, watering or pest control by humans. The one thing they have in common is compost…nature’s way of nourishing, healing and protecting all plants. Different plants, depending on their origin, prefer the characteristics of a bacterial or mostly fungal compost. Revitalizer is a custom blend of humus and manure composts to ensure a wide array of beneficial fungal and bacterial microorganisms.”
